Plant Profile

Mayaca fluviatilis
From tropical America in bogs and shallow water. Needs strong light and prefers softer and slightly acidic water, but acclimates to alkaline water if CO2 is added. Can grow tall but easily controlled by pruning of the stems and replanting the cuttings. A delicate looking plant that looks best planted in bunches. Do not shade this plant, make sure it gets direct light. Grows fairly quickly and otherwise undemanding.
