Aqua Botanic was first established in 1999 as an informational web site for the aquarium plant hobby by Robert Paul Hudson, and shortly thereafter became an ecommerce site for aquarium plants and supplies. In 2010 the ecommerce business was closed and Robert decided to turn the site into a blog for freshwater aquaria to again provide information about the hobby to a wide audience. The focus of the site is on all aspects of freshwater water aquaria including the planted tank.
